About

Welcome!

I am a photographer from Canberra, Australia.

Fascinated by photography since I was ten, I have never lost the excitement of exploring the world with a camera. Having spent much of my childhood overseas, I used to think photography was about exotic destinations; later, though, I learned that it’s really about seeing how light can transform even the most mundane subject into something special.

I love the interplay of light, shadows and shapes, the joy of catching a fleeting mood or impression, the little details of everyday life and, above all, reminders of the people I meet along the way. I am so grateful for the kindness and generosity of all the strangers who let me photograph them, hand me a cup of chai, show me a viewpoint I might have missed, invite me into their home, or just laugh at the antics of the foreigner with the camera...

My mother once commented that photography had given me eyes.  Even better, it gives me a reason to travel and an excuse to seek out glimpses of other people’s lives and cultures, to explore the world in all its diversity and to share what I find.  And yes, I always see more clearly and notice more with a camera in my hand.  (Thank you, Maman!)

I travel as much as I can and use personal projects to stay inspired at home.  I enjoy printing and exhibiting my work, most recently in group exhibitions with the Canberra Photographic Society and PhotoAccess. This website is a work in progress, so please check back from time to time. Meanwhile, you can find me on Instagram or get in touch via the contact form.
